At times when your Internet connection is not working and you know that:
-
your modem is connecting at a good speed
-
you cannot get any Internet throughput (no websites, no email, no pings)
-
you know that your firewall software is not blocking Internet access
then we recommend re-installing your TCP/IP.
NOTE: Please do NOT re-install TCP/IP unless you have first uninstalled any firewall software.
To re-install TCP/IP over your firewall will cause general protection faults within Windows.
Before continuing ensure that you have your Windows CD-ROM available. If you are not sure, do not continue but call the Helpdesk.
